Get up really early to drive to Yosemite - especially in summer - avoiding both the crowds and the midday heat. We left the hotel at 7am and hiked to the top of Vernal Falls by 10.

Relatively large hotel, with very friendly front desk staff, who did everything possible to help us. Rooms are large and clean, though somewhat out-dated in terms of styling - we had no problem with this. Breakfast was basic but more than enough to power us up for a day hiking in Yosemite. Oakhurst has a number of good restaurants within walking (or short drive) distance, some of which give a discount for guests of the hotel. Small pool and spa/hot tub was great to relax in after a day's walking. Only real criticism is the Wifi was slow to unusable, though the front desk staff did warn us of this from the outset. There are various outlets offering free Wifi in the area (Burger King, Starbucks etc) if you need it, which work fine, but if Wifi in the hotel is important to you, this hotel would be a problem. Location wise it's about 1h 20m drive to Yosemite. Overall our experience was good, especially in terms of value for money - we would stay here again.
